19th May 2008 John Barnes Comes To Newtown
We had a fantastic day in school when John Barnes visited the school to present a new football kit sponsored by ‘
Wash
and Go’. This kit was won by Year 6 pupil through a competition in the News for football kit design which lots of you voted for. The design will now be presented to a school in
Ethiopia
and
Newtown
has received a fantastically colourful kit designed by an Ethiopian boy named Agegnehu. We are proud to be associated with this venture as ‘Wash and Go’ do much to promote funds for water amenities, business start up loans and football facilities in
Ethiopia.
At the Summer Fair we will be auctioning a football signed by John Barnes and the proceeds of this will go to the ‘Score Ethiopia’ venture – www.linkethiopia.org for more information.
